Sperrins Gateway to host FREE summer walks, talks and strolls

Celebrate the natural beauty of the breathtaking Mid Ulster Sperrins area with a series of FREE events being organised and delivered by Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership (SGLP) this summer.

 Starting on August 3rd with a Butterfly Count and Picnic, the Partnership has something for everyone to enjoy over the coming weeks in the area.

Full dates and details are as follows:

Wednesday 3rd August, 2.00pm

Big Butterfly Count & Picnic – with Mark Edgar, Mid Ulster Council and David Morrow, RSPB.

Location: Plantin’ Park, Draperstown


Friday 12th August 10.30am – 12.30pm

Hiking in the Hills

Location: Eagles Rock Forest Trail


Saturday 20th August 10.30am

Hiking in the Hills

Location: Hudy’s Way Hill Walk (10km, easy to moderate grade)

Both walks are guided


Friday 26th August, 7.30pm

Go Batty in the Sperrins – Bat walk and talk with Karen Healy, Bat Group NI

Location: 50 High Street, Draperstown

 All ages are welcome but U16s must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable clothing and footwear are essential for all outdoor events.
