Spring in the Sperrins with Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership

May 2013 brings with it the first Spring in the Sperrins Event. On the 3rd and 4th May Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership will celebrate the wonderful natural heritage of the Sperrins. Events and activities to suit all ages and interests are planned throughout the evening of the 3rd and day of the 4th, using the An Ráth Dubh Hall in Moneyneena as the base.

Partnering with Butterfly Conservation, Mid Ulster Biodiversity Project, Geological Society of Northern Ireland, RSPB, Northern Ireland Environment Agency, the River Trusts and Bats NI to deliver a series of talks and activities the Sperrins Gateway Landscape Partnership’s event will highlight the importance of our local natural heritage and biodiversity.

Holding the festival in May allows everyone to make the most of Spring in the Sperrins. Daylight hours are plentiful, birds are active, butterflies and Moths are about, wildflowers are beginning to bloom and, coinciding with the bank holidays, the event also enables families to get out and discover the wonders of the Sperrins.
